BagasseWare® disposable plates, bowls, soup containers and platters are made from sugar cane fibers, not trees! They are a renewable, sustainable alternative to polystyrene products made from petroleum and virgin paper products that come from trees.
BagasseWare® is made from biomass — agricultural waste fibers that are left over after the juice has been extracted from the sugar cane plant (sometimes supplemented with wheat, bamboo or rice fibers). This fiber is processed into a pulp, molded at high pressure and temperatures, then sterilized, to form a serveware product that is thicker and sturdier than paper and friendlier to the environment than styrofoam.
Convenient and compostable
Suitable for both hot and cold on-the-go food applications, BagasseWare® products are also leakproof, microwave-safe and freezer-safe, and can handle hot liquids up to 190ºF(88’C).
BagasseWare® is 100% biodegradable and compostable. It turns into mulch in 30 to 60 days in a home composting system, and decomposes even more quickly in managed, municipal composting facilities under proper conditions.
